Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find my ramblings interesting, useful, and inspiring. But more important, I’m hoping to meet you and discover how I can inspire you. So don’t just read…. leave comments on the posts that move you and let’s connect.
How My Vegan Life Began
No matter where you’ve been or where you’re going, the experiences you have along the way shape who you are and what you are today. And that goes for food and lifestyle, too. Did you wake up one day and decide to become vegan? Did you read an article and decide you wanted to try the vegan lifestyle? Do you have a relative or friend who is vegan? Did your doctor recommend that you become vegan? Well, I can’t say “yes” to any of those questions.
No medical doctor recommended I convert to vegan, but the Chiropractor I found a couple of years ago did recommend cutting out all the same food choices that vegans do. Let me back up… I was living with a chronic illness for ten years. During that time the doctors had me on numerous medications that produced many serious side-effects. Eventually I got tired of the medication and the road that led nowhere. I took it upon myself to detox and get healthy on my own. That involved a lot of research. Then my back went out and that’s when a friend recommended their chiropractor. He changed my life – I have never been healthier, happier, or more content.
A Vegan Lifestyle Has Challenges
Unless you stay at home and never go out socially, or you live in a cave, let’s be real – living vegan can be challenging. People don’t understand why you don’t eat “regular” food (even my family still doesn’t get it!) and although more and more restaurants have something vegan on their menu, you’re going to have days when your food isn’t ideal. After all, everything I eat at home is fresh and organic. That’s not guaranteed even if you manage to get a vegan meal at a restaurant. As with everything else in life, you need to make adjustments.
So – if you don’t want to be stuck in your house, alone, follow me and discover how I live a real vegan life… challenges and all. I love to cook, but nothing too complicated for me and I don’t want to be buying groceries more than once a week. Many of my main meals are made in bulk for the freezer. That way I’m never out of real food.
I hope you’ll join me on my journey and perhaps even start your own journey.
